OPEN LETTER

From IRCC Executive Director

Dear our prospective sponsors:

As the executive director of IRCC – the Immigrant Resttlement & Cultural Center, Inc. – I would like to extend my special invitation to you as our prospective sponsors.

IRCC, Inc. is a community-based non-profit organization.  We have been serving early refugees who came from three war-torn countries – Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia – after communist forces took over those countries in April of 1975. More than 150,000 refugees came to the United States then. Afterwards more than one million people fled Vietnam by boats seeking freedom over the span of 20 years. Since 1976, IRCC has continously worked providing social assistance, resettlement and English language and vocational skills for those refugees. Nowadays IRCC serves not only Vietnamese but also other refugees as well.

More importantly, IRCC has dedicated its effort to found and build the first museum dedicated to the Vietnamese people outside of Vietnam in San Jose, the one city with the greatest population of Vietnamese emigres. We are leading the effort and have almost completed the museum that will be ready for public visitation by April of 2008.

As you may already know, the Vietnamese Community is approaching an important benchmark: one-third of a century on an historical journey to the United States after the fall of Saigon. Therefore, in preservation the of unforgettable events leading us here, IRCC will hold a series of events to celebrate the Vietnamese Community- 33 Years Later.

I am very honored to request your presence at these events and we will provide you all of opportunities for you to leave your company name for a 100 years of recognition among today and future generations of Vietnamese-Americans.

Again, please accept my inviation. I look forward to welcoming you at our event – the Vietnamese Community 33 Years Later.

Sincerely,

Loc Vu

IRCC Executive Director
